The getaway girls are the women you hope to run into when you're out drinking and/or partying. They're flirty and exciting, borderline dangerous even, but they can also save your soul if you find them and say the right thing. Alas, they are not real -- kin, I suppose, to the Manic Pixie Dream Girls. Women and intoxicants can both be subject to the sort of romantic idealization that can make life seem more exciting, but the escape from reality never lasts, and might just make things worse in the long run.
