Originally written following the conspicuous failure of our elected officials to pass anything resembling gun control or banking reform, this song is based on the idea that you can say whatever you want, but in the end, your actions reveal your true priorities. Politically-specific details were downplayed to make a more general point: how badly do want your own circumstances to change, and what are you prepared to do about it? More likely than not, it's going to be up to you and you alone.
